Yes, you have to pay a little more for an electronic toy than the usual cuddly toy, and even with improvements from prior years she still isn’t quite as soft as stuffed animals, yet she can do so much more. Besides, she does look like a reeeeeeal puppy!
What makes all the difference is Fur Reals attention to the little details, making Cookie come alive. Here is what she can do:
• The best thing is she responds to what you say: she actually barks back; being a puppy her barking is not too loud.
• pet her on the head or back and she wags her tail and barks,
• when you pet her on the cheek, she turns her head towards your hand,
• She makes crunching noises when you put the toy bone in her mouth,
• You may even send her to sleep if you pet her for a long time; thankfully, she does not snore!
One piece of good advice is to get a number of spare batteries as she runs on 4 C batteries bringing her to life. Although four batteries are included, do not expect them to last too long, as they will have been used for the demo mode.
We have already noted Cookie Puppy isn’t as soft and as cuddly as a stuffed toy. With all the electronics inside, required to have Cookie move around, it’s not possible. However, Cookie is much softer than previous generations of Fur Real Friends interactive pets, and in many ways is a lot more real by the way she moves. Most importantly, she’s still soft enough for your child to hug. You will find the electronics will be more than worth it when you see your child play with Cookie Puppy, interacting with their new friend.
