The Telepgraph reported November 21st in their article ‘Xbox Live update causing problems’ that some owners of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 games console have experienced problems with their machines after downloading and installing the latest Xbox Live software updates. Microsoft, who had launched a new-look Xbox Live online portal for its consoles on Wednesday, confirmed it is aware of the problems and is working hard to resolve them.
In the same article The Telegraph noted the Xbox 360 console has been beset by technical problems in recent years. Diligent shoppers in United States have recently reported that they have discovered while Microsoft had resolved the issue of the so called “red ring of death”, the fault that causes their Xbox 360 console to freeze during use, only Xbox 360 consoles manufactured in September or later had the problem fixed.
There are Xbox 360 consoles in stores made prior to September which may still have the “rrod” fault. These diligent shoppers had found it was necessary to do a lot of digging to find an Xbox 360 manufactured in September or later, as most stores do not distinguish between units made before September or after August.

“Recent Xbox 360 reviews by purchasers include several comments, which are helpful and worth relating. The Xbox 360 has had problems, which Microsoft has only recently resolved; however, the adjustments have only been made on Xbox 360s manufactured after August. So, you should ensure that the version you buy is manufactured in September or later. Many stores selling Xbox 360 do not distinguish between the two, so you can spend some time digging, or go to a Xbox 360 supplier who currently has Xbox 360 in stock and is shipping post August editions.”
If you are thinking of getting an Xbox 360 for Christmas you will do well to pay heed. Why not make sure the Xbox 360 you get is manufactured in September or later? and, that the Xbox Live software version is current, so you do not have to download the Xbox 360 Live update, or check that Microsoft has resolved the download issue.
