Dream Toys 2008 – the Hot Toys and Games lists have been released by the Toy Retailers Association (UK). Its ‘Dream Toys 2008’ list predicts the most wanted/best selling toys and games for Christmas 2008. TRA’s list is the only official prediction of Hot Christmas Toys and Games, which has been based upon hot lists from six categories: boys, girls, pre-school, and hip’n’kool, creative, and games from the UK’s leading toy manufacturers.
The Toy Retailers Association, which does not sell toys, represents 75% of toy retailers and is uniquely placed to make predictions based on 50 years of consumer knowledge and tracking the latest trends in the market.
TRA says Music takes the Girls category by storm, with the Bratz Girlz Really Rock Dolls, High School Musical Sing Together Dolls and the film-inspired Camp Tock Gift Pack making it on the wish lists of aspiring rock stars. TV and film inspired toys is the trend for the Boys category this year, with nearly all of the selection featuring characters from movies. As well, some ‘classic’ toys make a comeback this year.
You may be familiar with most of the toys on the Dream Dozen Hot List. So, it will not be a surprise if many of TRA’s Hot Toys for 2008 will become best sellers in North America too this Holiday Season.
